Shelving

Here at Trade Systems we sell a wide variety of different products for the storage and shop display markets. The core detail to both of these individual markets is the style of shelving used, this page will focus on storage shelving and some of the options available.

So lets start with storage shelving!

Firstly how would you like your shelving to look. Choose wall mounted such as the twin slot shelving we have in a range of colours and finishes or free-standing shelving which again gives you almost endless options in size and strength.

Wall Mounted Shelving

Our wall mounted shelving has been a core product for Trade Systems from the very beginning. Originally manufactured by a British company based in Watford called Spur Shelving the style hasn’t changed much, except for modern technologies and improvements in manufacturing. We now supply a wall mounted shelving upright made from 1.5mm thick cold rolled steel and coated using the latest anti-bacterial powder coating. The upright has a series of twin 19mm long (32mm pitch) slots along the full length. Once the uprights are secured vertically to the wall surface there are a multitude of shelf bracket styles available to suit storage on glass, wooden or steel shelves. Using wall mounted shelving creates a shelving system which has strength and style without using valuable floor space making wall mounted shelving ideal for use in offices, homes and garages where floor space is at a premium or needed for other uses.

Free-standing Shelving

Size and weight loading are the main variables you will need to decide when choosing which free-standing shelving system suits your requirements. This style of shelving has so many variations it’s almost guaranteed that we will have the right shelving solution for you. Free-standing means this style of shelving is self supporting, it doesn’t rely on the strength of a wall. Any load the shelving carries is transferred through the structure to the floor or surface the shelving stands on. Shelving, or sometimes known as racking consists of either two end frames or four individual corner uprights. Shelving units using end frames tend to be longer or deeper units generally over 1800mm (6ft) long and 600mm (2ft) deep. End frames consist of two uprights joined together using a series of horizontal and diagonal braces to create a strong sturdy structure, with perforated uprights which then support the shelf beams, which in turn support the shelf deck. Shorter shelving bays generally offer clear access to the individual shelves on all sides by having four uprights, one in each corner, the uprights are perforated to take a narrow beam which supports a shelf deck panel. We stock shelving bays ranging in shelf size from 610mm x 355mm up to Longspan shelving bays 2440mm long x 1220mm deep. All shelving bays offer the user adjustable shelf positioning to best suit your particular requirement.
